Uniting Vision to Nurture a Generation Begins with the Heart of a Leader

Sekolah Tunas Unggul  continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of educators through a focused In House Training (IHT) session titled “Managing and Implementing Change”, led by experienced education practitioner Jenny Sumarauw. This session is part of the school’s ongoing teacher development program, with a strong emphasis on mindset transformation and leadership growth.

In her presentation, Jenny emphasized that meaningful change within schools will not happen unless leaders first adopt a proactive and adaptive mindset. This mindset is reflected in everyday decisions—ranging from how time and resources are allocated to how leadership is demonstrated within the teaching team.

“When a leader has the spirit to grow, teachers will grow with them,” she stressed.

All Change Must Lead Back to Students

One key takeaway from the session was the importance of student-centered change. Every program designed must answer students’ real needs. From the Character Growth Journal in middle school to the English Development Program in elementary school, all initiatives are aimed at helping students grow holistically—both in academics and character.

Planning Must Be Specific and Measurable

Each team was challenged to create a program plan based on the SMART framework: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and aligned with the school’s vision. The goal is to ensure every idea is not only executable, but also impactful in the classroom.

From Teachers, for the Nation’s Future

This IHT session is more than just training; it is a strategic step reaffirming Tunas Unggul School’s vision of shaping teachers who are not only excellent educators, but also transformative agents of change. When leaders lead by example, teachers grow. And when teachers grow, students thrive.
